- As of right now, Harrison Barnes has not led North Carolina back to the promise land, he hasn't even led them to wins. UNC, with the most over-estimated Freshman in recent memory Barnes, dropped it 2nd strait game in Puerto Rico, failing to win the pre-season tourney. 8th ranked UNC was defeated by Tubby's Golden Gophers, with Barnes going 0-12, and then losing to a supprisingly good Vandy squad in the consolation game. Roy Williams says that the team lacks leadership and he is going to have to teach them, or run them to death. He however does not feel like this is as bad as things were in Chapel Hill last season, when the Heels dropped 17.
- And it looks like they still have a chubby for Tubby up north. The Gophers beat UNC and WVU in consecutive games to take home the prize in Puerto Rico. With Iverson, Sampson III, and company, Tubby has a legit Sweet 16 team, and a threat to break on through and make it a Elite 8 kind of year.
-Bruce Pearl says that he feels that his punishment levied by the school and now the conference is more than adequate for his transgressions. Nice try Bruce, but saying things like that will only make the NCAA hammer come down harder. Pearl will be suspended for 8 games in SEC play, but will still be able to travel and be around the team, which does not sound like much of suspension. Ironically, Pearl is able to rejoin the bench against Kentucky.
-Florida, the supposed kings of the SEC this season had to survive a late run by Morehead State to get out of Gainesville with a win. Kenneth Faried had a monster showing, and it caused Billy Donovan to admit to a man crush on Faried during post game comments. Point is, Faried will be making alot of money next season. New tax bracket for Kenneth.
-The one single solitary bright spot in the Bengals loss Sunday was that the Bills were spurred on by the performance by former Wildcat Stevie Johnson... the same one who got loose against Louisville... Johnson finished with 3 td's in the Bills second win of the season.
- The Cats take the court in paradise today, in the opening round of the Maui Invitational against unranked, but very capable and dangerous Oklahoma. Darius Miller, shits getting serious.
- Kansas freshman who was having eligibility problems over taking money, same exact situation as Enes Kanter at Kentucky, was told he will have to sit out 9 games.... And Enes is not allowed to play at all... Fuck the NCAA.
- John wall is still out of the Wizards line-up with a sprained ankle. Bledsoe made the most of his time as the starter in LA, and it's a good thing with the guards ahead of him becoming healthy and getting back on the floor. His PT is going to take a dramatic decline. Patterson is down in the D league, which can be seen on Versus Network... Nobody is watching though. Big Cuz is coming off the bench for Sacramento, and he is not shooting any better and still getting frustrated in games...tick tick tick....
-And the team led by my facebook friend, and the man who mastered the dougie, Matthew Mitchell took his 8th ranked Women's team head on with Notre Dame, who came to Lexington ranked 12th. UK won by holding off a late ND charge for a final of 81-76. Mitchell has gotten the women's program to heights not achieved for the program, and has got UK on level with some of the other national powers,(of course not UConn). Mitchell has been a boon for the women's program, and was rewarded with a 5 year extension for his efforts.
-Japan has cooler Nintendo shit than we do... I found a video game from the late 80's early 90's that was only sold in Japan that is based on the Major League movie. It is you average run of the mill NES baseball game, but just it being Major League and Ricky Vaughn makes it a gift from Jesus. And, I found a Japanese version of Bases Loaded that is far superior to the American edition, subtle difference that add to the experience...well as much of a video experience as you can git in 8 bit.
-That's enough notes... I am not bored anymore... some good shit just came on the History International Channel(can't get that on basic cable bitch) and I am not getting paid for this garbage... Not rough drafting on yellow legal paper either....
