People it shouldn't be that difficult. I mean in the time it takes you to grab the latest issue of Jugs magazine and the jar of Vaso under the bed you can set a lineup for that week. In recent weeks several owners have not been living up to the standards of what the 64/60 is all about. Some owners have been a repeat violators of lineup policies and procedures that were set at the Winter Meetings nearly two years ago. At that meeting the 64/60 Bylaws were created however like many policies and procedures that companies produce yearly, they often are forgotten if not enforced. This lack of enforcement falls squarely on me and to those who are frustrated with the improper ownership I apologize. I simply don't have the time to manage every roster in the league nor should I force a team to start a TE/DEF etc. for one week if it means they must drop a player which they would rather not. Considering all of these items I decided to let owners manage their rosters my thinking is that if a owner wants to pony up the money only to piss it away then fine by me. With all this said I'm sure at some point this season this new stance will come back and haunt me. Someone may decide to lay down in the final weeks to push someone into the playoffs or to keep someone out but I suppose this will be the price I will pay for my lack of discipline. Though I no longer adjust rosters weekly, I am aware of the owners who have mailed it in and their membership will be under review for the 2011 campaign. For those who have suggestions on how this should be better handled we will certainly discuss them at the upcoming 64/60 Meetings scheduled for some time around the Thanksgiving Holiday.
Game Recaps
Tree Fiddy 122 vs. Barboursville Stars 113. The closest contest of the week was a much needed win for the Fiddy. In the battle of sub .500 teams the win brought the Fiddy to the .500 mark. For the Stars the loss essentially ended the season. At 2-6 with 5 to play a 7-6 mark likely won't cut it this year. McClung tough luck buddy but keep on keeping on and I still want to see the parity your rugrats produced.
MVP- Calvin Johnson 37
Shock-N-Aww 39 vs. steelerdomination 29. No this wasn't a defensive battle. After weeks of trying different benching strategies, no Kicker, no TE, no DEF, etc., the Shock did just that by pulling of the No QB, Minus 1 WR, and Minus 1 TB. Perhaps steelerdomination took it as a slap in the face. Or perhaps Malone spent his weekend in a pool of his own vomit in some hotel room at the Mardi Gras Hotel and Casino. Regardless Malone employed the 5 person BYE week which is the equivalent of double dog dare you. The mind games played by Gilbert gave him his third win of the year while steelerdominations lost weekend brought others closer to the leagues top spot.
MVP- Matt Ryan BYE
Jitsuers 123 vs. Slobber Knockers 96. The Two-Le-Jit-To-Quit snapped their season high two game losing streak. The real story in this contest however is the Slobber Knockers and their misguided management. Perhaps it's the abuse of Yeuger and Red Bull on a daily basis or the day to day grind of 9213 but whatever it is Davidson should just set back and let his kids control the team. On Sunday the Knockers dropped Ben Jarvis Blue Elvis and LeGerrette Blunts Punch Out for Adam Smith and Josh Preston circa Black Tavern. The two totaled 50 points and had they been inserted in the lineup it would have been another upset.
MVP- Brandon Lloyd 29
BCFP 133 vs. Bo's Bad Asses 103. The Factory have now one three in a row and find themselves in 5th place but two games clear of .500. With each passing week the Factory's conference continues to grow as does the huge ego of the greatest Fantasy mind in not only the 41129 but the entire Eastern part of the United States. For the Asses the misery continues. The 3-5 record still gives some hope to a turnaround but the roster filled with Free Agent Scrap Metal doesn't. Who cares you pull of a great Kenny Powers, your young and healthy what more could you ask for.
MVP- Peterson 25
12th Rd Kicker 127 vs. Bounty Hunters 86. In the lone mathcup of true playoff contenders it was the Kickers who got the upper leg in the contest. Don't look now but the Kickers have pulled off 5 wins in a row and the Volkswagon Van doesn't look to be slowing down as smoke flies out the window. The win pushes the Kickers into the second spot and drops the Hunters into the 6th spot. Once again though the Hunters still are in good shape with a 5-3 record two games clear of .500.
MVP- Jason Witten 25
Fightin Amish 137 vs. Grumpy Old Man 96. After back-to-back losses the Amish and his nipples get a much needed W. Make no mistake the Amish at 5-3 have the look of a playoff team however a mans nipples can only stand so much. In victory the Bopp applied hair gel and stared into the mirror admiring the cowlick and three facial hairs for hours upon hours. Richard let the countdown begin five weeks remain until you have no more Fantasy obligations until Baseball 2011.
MVP- Foster 31
Pick Up Of The Week
Pierre Thomas- Tree Fiddy. Assuming Thomas returns within the next three weeks. Thomas isn't great but he is a good TD producer and is their only 20 carry threat. Always a good deal when you get a potential 15 point a game player for nothing.
Head Scratcher Of The Week
FV Slobber Knockers Dropping every RB that scores. Both were number one guys. Ellis won't be a consistent 25 point game player but he is still the top RB for the Pats. Blount also isn't a consistent 20 point elite type back but he should consitently produce in double digits assuming he can keep his hands to himself and the football.
Trade Evaluation
Tree Fiddy receive Matthew Stafford from BCFP for McNabb and Santonio Holmes. Fiddy gets the better QB and the battery mate of his top player Calvin Johnson. The Factory employees a mix and match approach at QB anyway so the addition of Holmes adds depth to the WR position which seems to be where the points are.
