It's Tuesday and I am watching the Blue-White game... I sit through hours every season watching a video feed that looks like it is coming from my mom's old VHS camera and being feed through a UHF/VHF converter attatched to an Intellivision. I put up with absoultely horrible Whitaker Bank commercials with acting worse than Anakin Skywalker in the prequels...And I sit and listen to Buzz and Kyle attempt to call the game and send it down to Rob Bromley on the sidelines for updates, and I keep expecting Bromley to mention westerly winds or a cold front moving in...Which confusing your sideline reporter for a weather man is a sign that the presentation needs tweaked...Not too mention that,now, all too familiar buzzing sound that lasts the entire broadcast...and it's not from just watching the feed on WKYT or WYMT, the super local MyZ suffers too... But I wouldn't change a thing about it... I bleed the Blue...As I am typing, the Blue team is up 27-19, and did I forget to mention we are all of 10 strong??? and one of which is a walk-on??? Not to mention the Underkanter in having to watch from the sidelines...still not FREE...Now, i can get a good feel on who to expect to log the minutes this season....And I am expecting big things from DeAndre Liggins...
Now that Life has returned to a systematic normalcy in the Empire... I feel the need to touch on this...
I will not make excuses or back peddle out of the comments I said that we would run the table in the remainder of the SEC Season... We classically decided not to show up for the first half against the Dawgs, and once again made a huge comeback in the second half, which also ended in a heart break for the Cats. Now, With a challenge that has been a scary one all season looming with those damn cowbell ringers in Starkville, I say this...The Cats win out...and, although it won't be as sytematically or mathematicaly as easy as it would have been had we won against Georgia, I still say that we win the East of the SEC...
Another thing that kind of erked me was the fact that apparently, those who read this blog are either unable to read or simply can not form cognitive thoughts and gather info from what they have read... I do not have a new found support for Mike Hartline, I have been one of the staunchest Hartline critics, and have said many times, even after praising his performance against SC that I would continue to cringe with him taking snaps, and would still want to see Newton in the game... Although, as I also said, statistically, it is hard to find too many qb's in conference that are performing better than Hartline is right now... I know it's cool to bash Hartline, I have done it, and I have actually enjoyed doing it a few times, but it's not, especially this season, his fault for our lack of playing up to caliber in conference games... Things go array, blame Hartline or Joker seems to be the answer for most of the fan base, whatever happened it had to be one of the two's faults... Let's take a look at the real issue here... that issue is our overall youthfulness and inexperience in alot of aspects of the game...You are hard pressed to find our seniors being a major force as team leaders, statistically speaking in various catergories, most notably on our defensive side... You are gonna be hard pressed to win games with no production from seniors who have been there for a while, let along win games in the SEC with no senior pressence... That is where the issue is... Not with our coach, well too much, although his play calling has been and always will be suspect, not our SR. QB...who has done nothing this season to warrant the redicule and hatred he has recieved...season's past...sure...this year.. an emphatic NO... and of course, our fairweather fans can't wait to jump on the next target to balme things on...
And seriously, if you are of a minority, and sad to say some morons on Cat's Pause do make obsurd statements such as this, who trully wants Kentucky to dismantle it's program... You have no idea what you are talking about...and you deserved to be deported to Indiana... You have no Idea what you are asking for, and would cut your own throat across the board for all KENTUCKY ATHLETIC PROGRAMS....it's profit sharing you morons, and guess which brings in the most and allows for the luxuries that other's have????
