Spreadology 2010

Some may consider it luck but I happen to think my sizzling start to the season is thanks to a increased skill level when it comes to picking winners. Today when I see a line I've got the whole Good Will Hunting thing going on. I just look at the lines and they make sense to me. I wish I could fully understand it. Therefore in addition to giving out winning picks each and every week I could charge a hefty price teaching it to others. At this rate by seasons end I will have myself a full list of clients and will likely have enough access cash flow to quit work, become a full time blogger and owner/operator of the ultimate goal....64/60 Sports Bar. At the 64/60 the bar would be about the Sports a true Sports bar. No tunes no tiny boppers with tribal armband tatoo's. The 64/60 will be about a nice alcoholic beverage and a great game on TV, the way a Sports Bar should be. Until the dream comes true here are you Givem Or Takem Money Makin Picks Of the Week.

Navy vs. Air Force -10. This line is so out of whack it scares me. Navy has won 15 straight against Service Acadamies. 6 of the last 7 meetings between the schools have been decided by 10pts or less. Navy is coming of a bye and have had two weeks of prep. I like Air Force to snap the streak but give me the Midshipmen and 10pts every day of the week.

Notre Dame vs. Boston College +2.5. After two heartbreaking losses and being slapped around the Irish are horny for a win. BC simply isn't a very good team while ND is a average team with more playmakers on both sides of the ball.

PSU vs. Iowa -7. Big number for two top of the pack Big 10 schools but Iowa has the better more experienced squad and it's Homecoming by god and no one and I mean no one comes into Kinnick Stadium and beats the Hawkeyes on Homecoming.

Florida vs. Alabama -8. Forget Ohio State/Michigan or Texas/Oklahoma the biggest game in College Football at least over the last few seasons is Florida and Bama. The Tide owned Florida in last years meeting and though Bama has overhauled it's D from last season last weeks contest against Our Kansas has given Bama the seasoning it needs for the SEC slate on the offensive side of the ball. Offensively Bama may be the best overall offense in the country with two playmaking backs a top of the line WR, veteran OL and a smart effective QB. Once again the Tide has to many checkmarks on their side.

Patriots vs. Dolphins +1. Another line that makes no sense. The Patriots are a below average defensive unit while the Dolphins D looks to be in the top third of NFL defenses. Patriots offense isn't at the 07 level and although it is a good unit on the road against a really good Dolphins team it isn't good enough to justify being a road favorite. Will be a nail bitter but in the end it will be you counting the cash.

Recap: Navy +10, ND -2.5, Iowa -7, Bama -8, Miami Dolphins +1.

What to watch

Not a great showcase week for the NFL. The Marquee game on Sunday is the Ravens/Steelers matchup which has become the best rivalry in the NFL. Without Roethlisrapist the matchup should favor the Ravens but regardless it will be a tightly contested battle until the end with plenty of fierce hitting to go around. For as bad as the NFL slate is this week the College more than makes up for it. Miami at Clemson will produce the favorite to win the ACC. Wisconsin vs MSU and PSU vs. Iowa will go along way in the Big Ten standings. Florida and Bama is just that and perhaps the best and most interesting matchup is Stanford at Oregon. First off any nightgame in Autzen is a zoo, secondly it is such a matchup of contrasting styles. Oregon has the quick pace high scoring offense while Stanford scores a ton of points with a much more balanced attack and is a very physical unit on both sides of the ball. Hope all of you win a ton of money drink plenty of beer and watch as much football as humanly possible. It's fall people and fall is the best time in sports. Enjoy.
