In-N-Out The 64/60 Week 4

Finally a competitive week in the 64/60. The first three weeks of the season has produced blowout after blowout. Over the first three weeks only three contest had been decided by ten points or less. Week 4 provided three such contest. Also absent in Week 4 was the 40+ point blowout that had happened in each of the first three weeks. The blowout win of the week was a mere 19 points which was accomplished in two contest. Tree Fiddy and Bo's Bad Asses both got their first wins of the season and no doubt used last weeks In-N-Out post as bulletin board material in walk-thru's last week. In the same week as the Asses and Fiddy get their first wins the Bounty Hunters, Jitsuers and steelerdomination were handed their first losses. Now that every team has a mark on both sides of their record the standings are rather balanced. Five teams have a 3-1 mark, one team is at .500. Two teams have a tie on their ledger and have identical 1-2-1. Leaving four teams at 1-3 marks. Week 5 could go along way in determining which 1-3 squads have a run in them as Tree Fiddy faces off against his rival Chocktaw Shock-n-aww while the Barboursville Stars take on Bo's Bad Asses. The winners will be another game closer to the .500 mark while the loser will be a long way from playoff contention and will likely need to go 6-2 down the stretch to have any hope of a playoff spot.

Game Recap

BC Fightin Amish(please note this is not a trademarked property)103 vs. steelerdomination 101.

Other than the tie in week 2 this has been the closest battle of the young season. steelerdomination was the much more balanced team with six players posting in double digits. However steelerdomination was void of any primetime performer. That was not the case with BC Fightin Amish(please note this is not a trademarked property) who had a negative point defense a 0 point WR and six other players who failed to top double digits. However CHRIS-TO-PHER Lee had huge games from Antonio Gates and Arian Foster who even after missing a quarter of action posted 33 points a piece.

MOP- Foster, Gates 33

Tree Fiddy 137 vs. Jess's Jiu Jitsuers 130. The Fiddy get their first win and a victory over Ward makes it that much sweeter. The Whitley vs. Ward rivalry stems from Comment Wars on this very post and is no doubt the biggest rivalry going on in the 64/60 today. And quite frankly the 64/60 is in need of more rivalries that go beyond the action on the field and into the Smacktalk and Blog realms of the 64/60.
This rivalry does just that. In this rivalry The Bad Guy tends to have the edge in the Smacktalk but the action on the field here of late has been all Whitley. Much like the Amish contest the Jitsuers had more consistent play with 8 double digiters while the Fiddy had 6. The Fiddy however posted huge days from Johnson 26 and Tomlinson 30(I wouldn't buy much stock in a repeat of that performance), while the Jitsuers only had a high of 20 from Frank Gore.

MOP- Tomlinson 30

Argumentative 9irons 110 vs. Barboursville Stars 102. At least something would good would happen to the 9irons this week. After losing in the title game of the Fantasy he loves he gets a win in the Fantasy he hates. Karma can be a bitch I suppose. Typically a team will emulate the personality of their coach but since this squad is off to a 3-1 start I tend to think this team is rallying around the hatred of it's owner and wants to force the hateful old geezer to play more games. For the Stars it has just been a bad month for a owner who enjoys the game. The Stars had a early exit in the baseball playoffs. Lost to a girl in the consolation bracket to finish 6th on the season and has started with a 1-2-1 record over the first month of the football season. This contrast in recent success just shows that the game of Fantasy doesn't play fair.

MOP- Chargers 28

12th Rd Kicker 95 vs. BCFP 83. A bizzare game that it seemed no one wanted to win. The Factory posted -1 points from Cutler who didn't play in the second half. Portis posted 9 points but missed nearly the entire second half. Combine this with 10 total points from 2 WR's and you would expect a 30 point blowout. However the Kickers attempted to give it away. Despite solid performances from Hillis and Mendenhall the Kickers posted 0 points from two WR's and a negative performance from the D which alloweed the Factory to hang around. Losing to the Kickers is painful enough however Nate Kaeding outscoring my Kicker was just salt in the wound.

MOP- Addai 22

Bo's Bad Asses 118 vs. FV Slobber Knockers 99. Finally the Asses shit out a victory and used the Knockers as the toilet paper. Big day from TO, another performance I would likely not buy stock in, and Mike Tolbert who's addition could bring some controversy to the 64/60 but at the moment no complaints have hit my desk. Perhaps this is the win that can get the ball rolling for the Asses. Although the Knockers didn't get a W this week they certainly got my attention this week by actually paying attention. For those who may be wondering that is indeed the FV Slobber Knockers who's name appears under the Recent Transaction tab.

MOP- Owens 38

Bounty Hunters 69 vs. Chocktaw Shock-N-Aww 50. A win is a win I suppose but neither team can be happy about their performance from this past week. The Shock-N-Aww have had struggles from a record standpoint but this 50 point total is nearly 40 points below their average. Of course having a full lineup in would have likely helped. Though the BYE guarantees your team will not lose it is not a good matchup from a Fantasy standpoint. This week the Shock decided to go with three players who had a bye this week given that a K, RB and WR were the positions 19 points could have been attainable. During the course of the season eventual playoff teams have occasional weeks when you get a W more on luck than results and this is one of those weeks for the Hunters. When you can get a W with 2 points from your QB, 0 points from the RB position and a combined 8 points from two WR position and a Flex whom one of which was Randy Moss consider yourself lucky.

MOP- Wayne 33

Pick Up Of The Week

Dustin Keller- Bounty Hunters. Keller is clearly the favorite target of Sanchez and seems to be a redzone threat. Keller could be a Top 5 player at his position at years end and it cost the Hunters 0 dollars from their FAAB budget.

Head Scratcher Of The Week

Pierre Garcon- 12th RD Kicker. Garcon has been injured and Collie has emerged as the clear cut number 2 but Garcon will return soon and is the number 3 WR on the best passing attack in the league. Garcon is worthy of a reserve roster spot and should have been kept over Orton or Maroney.

Coleman vs. Ward/Hobson/Hardy Challenge

Kicker- I don't want to claim victory just yet but in case you missed it the first K selected has already been benched. So I could have some clear sailing from this point forward.

BCFP K- 8 YTD 22
Hartley- 0 YTD 19

BCFP DEF- 7 YTD 31
JETS - 8 YTD 32

Todd got lucky. I should have started "No Practice: Steven Jackson". Had I? I would have won.

For that matter, everyone else in the league got lucky too as Todd and I would have beaten any other team in the league and in some cases, two teams at once.

Is bullshit.... laughable. HA!

Of course you are winning the bet. You changed the rules to suit you. I say the bet is null and void unless we can all agree on the terms.

Also, other mentionable rivalries include but are not limited to:

1) Josh Gilbert vs. Chris Lee

This rivalry stems from adolescence, where many Monday nights were spent arguing over who has more knowledge of the WCW and WWF. It now comprises whether the sanctity of original material has been plagiarized. Ayn Rand would be proud.

2) Josh Coleman vs. Chris Lee

Similar to 1) but in this case the issue is now whether one or the other is better at fantasy sports; which is a true test of manhood as far as I'm concerned. Let's just measure dicks and get it over with. Or better yet, who can field a ground ball. Or even better than that, who has more minor little league home runs. Wait...

3) Jesse Ward vs. Chris Lee

Simply put I hate losing to this mother fucker because he dresses like a douche and he screwed my high school girlfriend. I don't care if the reasoning is stupid.

4) Josh Coleman vs. Dave Hobson

This rivalry is more subtle but I know both of these long time fantasy opponents loathes seeing that L on the scoreboard on Monday evening when the other person's name has a W. Plus they are also in an unspoken but obvious competition to see who can have the most kids in the shortest amount of time. James Hardy is actually the leader in this category.

5) Josh Coleman vs. Rich Coleman

Finally, something Josh can beat Rich at...occasionally.

And finally, and probably the most notorious....

6) Ashley Coleman vs. Jesse Ward

This one has a challenging history and has a number of facets that are outside the scope of this blog. It was (I say was because I think we are in a stage where we are ready to start building a friendly relationship.) the classic Wife vs. Best Friend situation. Let's just say that I think we both enjoy the competition (and tolerate each other) more these days than in the past and I, for one, am very grateful for that.

Comments? Questions?

This should start a little friendly banter.

Loved the rivalry comment it is a classic. I do not have a on field rivalry with Hobson however we do have a HR tracker ready for when our children begin their playing careers. As for the most kids if you are reffering to the time period from when the Olivia/Hardy duo was established you would be correct but if you are going by the number of kids in a shorter time frame that would go in the Coleman's favor. The Coleman vs. Coleman rivalry is a classic however other than Golf and the selling of overpriced and underperforming cars I have the uppperhand on the elder every day of the week. Another classic rivalry you omitted was the Coleman vs. Ward. It's a classic The Man vs. the Establishment. I set the rules and regulations you break those assigned rules and regulations. You are certainly a circle game on my schedule. Who was your high school girlfriend that Chris laid. Also antoher chapter in the Coleman vs. Lee history was the Melissa Allen Chapter. Chris fueded with me for about a month and in many ways that was just the beginning of this classic rivalry.

First,

I don't break any rules; I only exploit the loopholes. Big difference. Breaking the rules makes it sound like I'm cheating.

Second,

I left your and my rivalry out because it started to seem like I had a rivalry with everyone and I didn't want to seem narcissistic. I definitely pay special attention when I see the FP Factory come on the radar.

Third,

You'll have to remind me about the Melissa Allen saga. I only remember you and her having the same model car.

I fairly certain Chris performed sexual intercourse with Kelli H. and possibly Katie R. too; not to mention, like 3 of my college girlfriends. Of course, he doesn't have the sack to admit any of this. (Last names withheld intentionally to protect the innocent.)

Maybe I should do a piece on the rivalries of the 64/60?

We'll see.

I really wouldn't say that I have a rivalry with anyone, at present time, this is only due to the fact that I just don't take the fantasy stuff as serious as some would like me to, but I would have to say if I had a rival, it would be Butch, just because I love to disagree with everything that comes out of his mouth. Chris??? I just like picking on him, it's fun...I wouldnt say he was my Rival...Secondly, where in the hell did these alegations of Katie R and Kelli H come from? I doubt they had ever said two words among the 3, and those 2 probably were not 'let's fuck'. Besides, in this time frame, he was too busy with Beast of Burden time with another Kelly...All in all though, Jesse this was good work....

I would have to second Gilbert's claim regarding the Hoff and Katie. I have never heard such crazy claims. Perhaps the Hoff circa 2010 who is Carter County Loud and proud and drives a 88 model Nissan Sentra. As far as the Melissa Allen saga. Chris refused to talk to me for about a month because he had a crush on her and I broke her heart when we broke up. A true case of a man just wanting his true love to be happy with or without him. Time would eventually heal the Bopps wounds. er

Carter County Loud and Proud for the win. Kelli H. and Katie R. were jokes, esp Katie R. Although, I'm positive he knew that Kelli H. was fucking the basketball team while I was dating her.

Perhaps you should refer her to Rich for a new car.

I forgot all about the Melissa Allen issue. That was big back in the day. I'm sorry Josh broke your crush's heart Chris. Life goes on man. Life goes on.

Chris Lee, where are you?

That is what I'm talking about; forward thinking.

Idge, are you available this weekend for fun times?

IDGE said...

I can work something in on Saturday... I was kind of leaning more towards a podcast though...I mean seriously, Do we really need more people than just burt looking awkward on youtube?

jesseward said...

Good point. It might be neat to see everyone though.

It's up to you guys.

I was thinking something like an open video forum analogous to Around the Horn, except we won't be as annoying.

Let me know what time and I'll be there.
