* Another week another number one falls. Auburn now takes the top spot in the BCS how long can they hold onto it? Just like the previous three weeks the number one happens to be on the road once again. Ole Miss however isn't at the same level of South Carolina, Wisconsin or Missouri. Newton will once again be the best player on the field, will continue to build on his Heisman resume, and Auburn will once again escape with a win in a tightly contested matchup.
* My first National Title projection is in the tank so I'll give it another shot. Boise State once again but this time I'll project a undefeated Auburn team. After last weeks big win a letdown is possible however Chattanooga doesn't figure to be a look ahead game. They get a improving Georgia squad at home and they get a bye week before the finale at Bama.
* It's amazing how a bye week and a big game can change the perception of a team. For those Sports Talk Radio listenrs you will notice a change of opinion on USC this week. Three weeks ago the talk regarding USC was that of a program in turmoil. Back to back losses after a 5-0 start that wasn't impressive. The spotlight on their probation intensified. The "Nothing To Play For" talk began. After a impressive outing against Cal two weeks ago and the upcoming Primetime matchup with Oregon on Saturday, this weeks talk will focus on the fact that USC's two losses were by a combined 3 points. Revenge will be the undeniable theme for this matchup. Now the talk will be about Barkley the All American talent under center. No doubt the phrase "THis is USC's National Title Game.", will be used on multiple occasion over thousands of stations around the country. All of the above is true. This is USC chance to salvage what has been a lost season. It certainly would go along way in recruiting and keeping USC relevant in what is a dark time. I have called for a Oregon slip at some point and this may very well be the time. Wither Saturday is the day or not I just find the change of perception to be interesting and something that every sports fan is guilty of doing time and time again.
* I know I have banged on this drum a time or eight this season but the Big East is just terrible. In case you missed it the lone Top 25 team last week, West Virginia, lost at home to Syracuse. Just the week before Syracuse lost at home to 4-3 Pitt by 31. I may be the lone fan of the BCS system but one item that needs changed is the Automatic Bid for the Major Conferences. I do feel that Conference winners should be awarded a bid however I do feel that they must surpass some requirements. No mathamatical formula needed simply be a Top 15 team in the final BCS rankings.

No burt, you are not alone... I like the Bowls and I like the BCS...I think a playoff resolves nothing...when you consider all the factors, the BCS gives teams a better shot at reaching the title game than a playoff ever would...and, on that same token, Boise State does not deserve a title shot, if they do, then so did the 97 Marshall team...
