Still Hunting....

After being the BEST team in Baseball for the month of August, Marge's Marauders hit a snag in early September, losing to Division foe St. Louis 3 strait and dropping the series in Colorado...Thankfully the Reds have returned to Cincitucky and are being treated to homestands against perpetual dwellers Pittsburgh and Arizona. They took 2 out of 3 from the bucks and celebrated the return of Jay Bruce with a 2 homer day from the all-mighty one and handled the D-bags in game one.... The Bravos helped the cause and channeled Bob Horner and beat the Cards... As it stands, The Grateful Red are 6 1/2 up on Nelly's home-team and have shaken the 8-ball and it is saying 13... After 11 years, we finally have showed up when the weather changes, shedding our image of Awesome til' August...at least for this season... No melt down, and no fall aparts ... And yes, you can wear white after labor day, REDS and white....

Though I am a Cubs fan I have no issues with the Redlegs winning it all. With that said I can't see them beating any contending playoff squad in a five game series with Arroyo as the ace. Also how can a fanbase who hasn't had a playoff chance in over a decade only produce 12K fans in the middle of a pennant run. Yes I realize it's mid week and it's the D'Backs but you have to do better than that.

Um, have you not checked out a Rays game? the only series they even have a decent crowd inside of their over-sized gymnasium is Tha Yankees, and it's because the retirees from up North come out of their condos and watch the Yanks. Hell, the Tampa Yankees are more popular than the Rays in Tampa-St.Pete...And well, We are poor.

Agreed that the Rays fanbase is pathetic to say the least but they never have supported the team. The Reds at one time had a top 5 fan base in all of baseball and the franchise has so much history. I just feel that a city that is starving for success should do better.

Burt, The fact that Ocho Cinco blew a mixture of Cigar smoke and Apple Butter Sandwhich from Waffle House in my face should tell you a little something about the Queen City's Socio-economic situation....

The Reds suck, they need about 50 more pitchers before they are going to win anything.
