In-N-Out The 64/60 Week 7

Another exciting week of baseball in the books. Week 7 provided us with the first bit of drama this season along with some very close contest. Though many of the scores may not have ended closely as of Saturday all the Matchups were still up in the air. Judging by the Waiver Wire this week owners are losing all patience with underperforming players. Josh Beckett, Wandy Rodriguez, and Gavin Floyd all figured to be good options at worst, all have underperformed and all were dropped during the week. Owners have grown tired of their ineffectiveness and inconsistency.

The Rubber Duckies became the last team to join the win column with a 8-2 victory over the Ohio River Carp. Many may be wondering if the Duckies really do exist since some players who are on the DL are active and some who are active are now on the DL. Rest assured that Mr. Davidson is getting all those trade request and processing each one. And as for his lineup as he states each day "I'll look at it this evening." Tim we wait patiently and those who you are playing say don't rush yourself.

It was a battle of former 41129er foes as Butch Lemaster stepped into the ring against the Varsity Clubs Joshua Gilbert. The game went as expected for the most part. The Hebrewers played small ball on offense and relied on good pitching. The Hebrewers had 12 starts during the week 10 qualified as a QS. The script almost went to plan but the 41129ers offense of Butch Lemaster laid the beatdown, Barry Windham Flying Lariat style (a very underrated finishing maneuver I must say), hitting 18 HR to go with 61 Runs and 51 RBI all very off script for the 41129ers.

It was a battle amongst the heavyweights as Christopher Lee lost his grip on the top spot to GR3 and the 9irons. Though the game was somewhat close, I am confident Chrissy can manipulate the score in a what if style scenario that has him coming out on top 11-1, the 9irons pulled away on Saturday and Sunday winning 10-2. Christopher Lee posted some smack talk late Sunday that tainted GR3 victory as one of advantageous matchups. Bopp, the 64/60 is a head to head league, it's only taken you 4 years to catch on.

Big T seems to take everyone's best shot week after week and week 7 was no different. Hell and Damnation had no confusion as to what they are this week. They are offense and only offense 17 HR 59 RBI 52 Runs to bad they had a 7.71 ERA and a 1.70 WHIP to go with it. Regardless of the outcome I always admire a woman who chooses a side. Take Anne Heche for example, I am happily married no I am a Lesbian no dammit I am straight. Get off the fence a pick a side. I really don't know exactly what that rant had to do with the 64/60 but I am sure a link exist somewhere.

I have known Dave Hobson for many years now and I feel quite certain that 20 years from now two things will be the same. First he will wake up each day and give thanks to the earth's finest secondly he will build a winning fantasy team. I don't know how he does it he doesn't know how he does it, he just looks at the names and the pieces all make since, Dave Hunting from here forward.

Finally in a rematch from last years championship game the BCFP got some revenge from the Tully Blanchard of the 64/60, JEESSEE WARD. Not only did the action on the field get suspenseful but trash talk and character attacks hit the world wide web via email. Accusations of undermining authority were followed by concerns regarding leadership. It certainly was a chain of events that took the 64/60 of it's axis and the 64/60 has still yet to recover. Will these two original owners ever mend their damaged relationship or will they both be another victim of Fantasy Baseball's power struggle? Only time will tell.

Rubber Duckies 8 vs. Ohio River Carp 2. Somebody had to fall victim to the Duckies. The Carp have now lost 3 of 4. The Duckies are now on a winning streak.

Hendo Colonels 7 vs. B'VIlle Stars 4. The Colonels keep winning and continue to stay near the top of the standings. A all Michael's matchup awaits McClung and the boys.

Head Scratcher of the Week. The dropping of Josh Beckett seems to be a logical choice here but given his struggles and the generally strong pitching of the Stars I'll spare Mike back to back honors. Perhaps the Factory who held onto Zambrano after the move to the bullpen. The Factory dropped big Z the same day it is announced he would return to the rotation. How about Wandy Rodriguez or Gavin Floyd both dropped by the Colonels for a shaky starter and a setup guy? Generally all these could take top honors but this weeks award goes to GR3 and the Argumentative 9irons. Though the 9irons have worked to improve it's pitching via trades over the last three weeks any of these players would have been a huge upgrade for a team that sports a A offense. I am unaware if GC3 put a FAAB claim on Beckett but Wandy, Carlos and Gavin Floyd all cleared Waivers and all went unclaimed. So the 9irons failing to capitalize on a wealth of good P options is the Scrathcer of the week for me.


Pickup of the Week- Though the DIngers spent their entire FAAB budget on Beckett it is extremely unlikely a player with his potential will come along again. In addition to the Dingers I would also like to include the Factory who picked up both Wandy Rodriguez and Carlos Zambrano to aid a underperforming rotation and the best part about it is that the Factory spent 0 dollars for these players.


64/60 at the NFBC. Much of the same the offense is hitting it's stride and after a couple of bad weeks the pitching returned to form. We currently are tied for 5th place with three other teams in the league and have moved up 20 some spots overall from last week to 152 of 288.
