Bear Creek FP Factory Top 20 Bats or Bass If You Prefer

The Factory is once again here to make your lives easier come draft day. As most of you know I generally have my own personal rankings for players. These aren't based on who I like the most. These rankings are based on a point system I developed last year. Points are rewarded for production that is above average production. For example .270 is a target number for many Fantasy Experts. A .270 league average will keep you competitve in the category during the season therefore you would receieve points for .280's 290's and so on the better your mark the more points rewarded. Five points is the max awarded per category. This is my second season using this system. This season I adjusted the process by accounting for below average production so a 260AVG would lose you points. Some stats like SB do not have a negative impact as many players will have under 5 SB during a season but points are awarded for SB. The third part of the system is my baseline for statistics. Instead of using last seasons totals I prefer to use projected numbers. Typically I have found that the projections in most Fantasy Publications have everyone hitting .280 and 30 HR which isn't the case. So I prefer Baseball Prospectus's projections also known as PECOTA prjections tribute to the former UTILITY player of the Royals. Just ask Christopher Lee about Bill Pecota, he is a walking encyclopedia of Royals baseball. The PECOTA numbers take into considerations many of the nerd stats that I preach about such as BABIP and HR/FB in evaluating the upcoming seasons. PECOTA projections are often praised as the best in the business. I am sure the system isn't perfect but I feel as though it is more than solid. So here are the top 20 Hitters in the BCFP Top 200 Bats for 2010.
