Zach Collaros is used to this. Last season, he bailed out UC when Tony Pike went down. UC won the Big East. This season, Pike goes down again. They call Collaros' number again. Same result. If there is one thing that I will readily admit, it is that I do feel as if they have two very capable quarterbacks, prooving to be a sort of two-headed monster in the Big East. The stat line from their, in my mind, unexpected win against WVU reads all the offensive production belonging to Callaros, but the glory goes to Tony Pike, he threw both if UC's receiving touchdowns. The other score was the very controversial ruled fumble over turned in the booth run by Isaiah Pead. Game changer that wen Cincy's way. So, they got Illinois next week and Pittsburgh in the season ending showdown for Big East supremecy...I honestly don't see them beating Pittsburgh, but apparently since I feel that way, It would appear the they will finish unblimished and screw the entire BCS system up...Or will they??
College Game Day goes to the Mountain this saturday, Mountain West that is... The MWC conference has been known to produce a good team capable of putting the BCS universe in a state of chaos from time to time...Last year was Utah, and the Utes are not having a bad showing this year. They are going to run into the current Universe-shaking juggernaut known as TCU on saturday at TCU. TCU, as I have said before, is the only one of this years un-invited guest to the BCS gala that seem to have the chops to stick around for a while and take the refreshment table hostage..currently standing in at #4 in the BCS standings, they face the #16 Indian tribe from Morman land, who lead the all time series between the schools at 5-1. The Utes are wanting retribution, a chance to knock off a BCS frontrunner after the raping they feel that the BCS gave them when they went as un-blimished as an 8 year old's complextion and got no BCS reward...National TV, Home Crowd, Lee Corso hanging out on campus...The BCS takes it's first steps at course correcting it's self, TCU falls to Utah..
Now, the big boys of bog boy college football..the SEC...Bama' and the Gators... Bama' gets an often overlooked and very dangerous Mississippi State team... The much maligned SEC officiating may have been the deciding factor in taking the Bulldogs out of the game against the Apostles of Gainesville. Now, wether there is an Oliver Stone-esque comspiracy to keep Florida and Alabama on top is a matter of opinion...there is some evidence that would support it, but Kevin Costner may not have found the magic bullet yet to tie it all together... Bama will get some fits from the able MSU, but ultimately, they will roll to another W. FLorida plays the against the most disapointing program in recent memory, the Gamecocks of South Carolina. Spurrier was supposed to make SC a power every year, factoring into every SEC title game and every BCS title game. The ol' Ballcoach has not delivered the goods ...He was supposed to have brought a title to Columbia by now, and what once seemed to be a given is now only a pipe dream. But hey, Ric Flair is roaming the sidelines. I feel good about this one. SC wreaks a considerable amount of BCS havoc saturday and takes Florida. However, pay attention to how this will be course corrected in the final 2 weeks of the season...just watch..
Here are the other games on the Idge Radar...
Texas over Baylor in a romp...Duke upset of Georgia Tech...Virginia Tech over Maryland, no suprises here...Kentucky over the bigger SEC doormat Vandy, sorry Bobby Craycraft..Due to some bites from the injury bug and the overall over-rating of USC, yes I said it, I take Stanford in the upset over the Trojans in that Spooky Pac 10...Speaking of injuries, IOWA is suffering from some lumps, none bigger than the one called loss-to-Northwestern, but in a game that is only one rating point between the two teams, I take The Road Warrior Hawkeyes over the Buckeyes in Columbus, without James Laurenitis..OSU has no WHAT A PASS RUSH..Tell em' Hawk..call me crazy..The U takes on a North Carolina team that goes through some sort of identity crisis week after week...The U takes this one. Texas A&M and the Sooners..well, I can't remember a time when the Sooners have a had a harder time than the Dust Bowl...But, The pro wrestling connection with OU is too powerful for me to mess with, Oklahoma takes this one... in another contest betweek some Texicans and OKies, Tech palys OSU. Oklahoma State was one of those early season inflated bags of manure that some people got behind and pushed a little too hard... I like Texas Tech, just because their coach reminds me of a cross betweek an Elvis impersenator and Vince Gill... I am taking Marshall over So MIss...and, well I am gonna have to say that Ole Miss, another over-exagerated early season pick, is going to go into saturday's game and send Lane and his Gas Station Bandits to the SEC pokey...shit guys you had a Prius as your get away car...damn...The actions of the UT VOLS should be a slap to the face of Gas Station employees everywhere... I want a public appology from UT and that fuck tard gas station attendent who played it off as no big deal..and that apology needs to be addressed to George Coleman.... And, I think that Urban Meyer should not be consulted as to any punishment measures that would need to be taken... I pray to Tim that those boys get leadership in their lives... The OLDEST RIVALRY IN THE SOUTH...Gorgia and Auburn....hmmmm....My eyes have seen the glory...and Saturday, Georgia upends the much better Auburn squad...and now....Notre Dame.... Notre Dame in an upset over Pittsburgh, it is all apart of that course correcting Universe thing I spoke of.... This should not be any idication of Charlie Weis keeping his job though...Well, that is all the CFB thoughts that I have for this time out... And trust me, it took all I had to not talk all about Calipari and the Cats...I admit, I jizzed on myself a little bit when he came out onto the floor at RUPP..ok...I jizzed on myself alot....Some quick notes...Eric Bledsoe is our Insurance Policy...He is going to keep the Machine running without a hitch after John Wall ascends to the NBA...Darnell Dodson...My elevator riding partner of choice... Strokin' it like King Rex used to do... Patterson is one or two things away, mentally, of putting it all together and just completely obliterating the opposition with no equal... Big Cuz, Orton...Big things ahead from the big kids...Damn, it feels good to be a Wildcat... And just so you know...Morehead State would give any team in the country all they want, aside from maybe a Kansas or Michigan State....Morehead is going to make plenty of noise this season and make it back to the dance. if UNC would have played the Eagles last night, UNC only wins by about 9...and that is the truth... Gotta' love the LOVE ESPN showed the Cats on SC, and for that matter, the LOVE they showed MSU...
A Prius???
