64/60 Sports Presents: Spreadology 2009

Once again .500 is as good as I can do. Given the way last weeks contest played out I will happily take the push by Bama and the 1-1 mark. Last week results leave me at 17-19 on the season. This mark isn't impressive by any means but look on the bright side you have had the thrill of gambling for 12 weeks now and you haven't lost your house, car, boat or family. Everyone also knows a big hot streak is right around the corner it's nothing for me to pull of a 12-3 mark in a 15 game stretch and I've got a feeling that stretch begins this weekend. Not a ton of games I really like but I am feeling pretty good about the 3 featured in this column. Take out your savings and bet the farm this week you will be rewarded.

Notre Dame vs. Pittsburgh -7. This time last year the Irish where coming off a disturbing loss to Syracuse at home and Weis job status was in doubt. That week they rallied around their wounded coach and lost 35-3 to USC. Pitt isn't the USC of last year and neither are the Irish. Irish should move the ball on offense enough and this should be another Irish contest that comes down to the end. Irish circle the wagon and pull of the upset on the road 27-23.

New Orleans vs. St. Louis Rams +14. With the disparity between the have and have not's this season Vegas has took a pounding in these type of contest this season. It has been impossible for Vegas to put a number big enough on these matchups and this is no different. The Rams have been turnover prone all season and the Saints have been the most opportunistic D all year. The Rams D has been marginal at best only part of the time and the Saints will easily throw up 30+ making the running game of the Rams non-existent and ending the only hopes of keeping this game close for the Rams. Saints 34-14.

Philadelphia vs. San Diego -3. Teams are coming off opposite results from last week. Eagles lost a conference game against the Cowboys at home while the Chargers somehow managed to escape New York with a win. Eagles have struggled on the West Coast in the past but since this is their second trip this season the travel shouldn't be a problem. The Eagles are simply to good to lose two in a row and the Chargers O-Line should allow for a big game by the Eagles blitzing D. Expect some crucial Chargers turnovers and a 24-13 Eagles win.

Bet Big and Bet Often.

Clear Eyes, full Heart, can't lose.

Recap: Irish+7, Saints -14, Eagles +3

Season 17-19 Last Week 1-1
