Rocky! Rocky! Commonwealth Stadium renovations official

It looks like Kentucky will finally resemble a SEC football team, and it has nothing to do with Mark Stoops, cool Nike uniforms, or Sting.

This would be where the fair weather Kentucky fans among us, moan, whine, and tell us all how delusional and pathetic we are for keeping tabs on a program that "shouldn't exist". ( only so they can live with themselves every football season and not feel like Judas Escariot)

Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear has cleared way for state leaders to approve a $363 million investment to improve 6 of the Commonwealth's public universities. $110 million of which, will go towards renovations at Commonwealth Stadium and the Nutter  Center.

Morehead State will also receive $9.2 million to renovate Mignon Hall. If you've ever puked up a night's worth of bad decisions on campus at Morehead, chances are you know this building well. You also know this money is 40 years late in getting there.

The big selling point for the state, is that this measure will use no General Fund money, and will result in creating at least 5,000 construction jobs.

The Robert C. Byrd of eastern Kentucky, House Floor Leader Rocky Adkins (D-Sandy Hook) said that this was a "critical investment" for the state. Adkins, who has kissed more babies and shook more hands than anyone should in these parts for reasons of both sanity and health, recently had the new gymnasium at the recently completed Boyd County High School (The Taj Mahal of Northeastern Kentucky) named in his honor. Man knows how to find money and takes care of his people.

Renovations to Kentucky's football facilities were one of the selling points that enabled the university to land Mark Stoops.
