Don't Count Roy Williams out from landing Wiggins

Roy Williams is doing everything he can to keep his head above the shark infested waters, that are the Andrew Wiggins recruitment.

Apparently, the UNC coach has logged quite a few miles through the hills of West By God Virginia and Virginia Propper, as well as other locales, to keep tabs on the Canadian youngster.
Williams has visited locally, attending at least one of the Huntington Prep's traveling basketball shows at Spring Valley High, in a sweater vest no less.

More importantly than his fashion faux pas, is the fact that OK' Roy is really committed to make sure that Wiggins knows he's very interested in the young man, in a non-Dahmer way of course.
When Wiggins looks out into the sea of would be suitors, one face that has become very familiar, and even friendly, is that of Williams.

According to some, nothing other than a medical procedure has kept Roy from attending most, if not all of Wiggins' outings that are within a days drive from Chapel Hill or wherever the Tar Heels are roaming at that time.

And, it seems to be making a favorable impression on Andrew. It was told to us that Wiggins is impressed with the interest Roy has shown, and has made his recruitment to UNC a very hands-on and personal one, whereas it was pointed out that the kid keeps tabs on some other coaches who have not conveyed their interest with direct visits, but instead send assistants to do the groundwork for the program.

Lord knows that UNC could use this signing to become more relevant next season than they are this season. The Heels, like Kentucky, are not having a very good go at the season, and like the Cats have spent several weeks unranked. Unfamiliar territory for two of college basketball's royalty.

Maybe Roy has sold himself enough to Wiggins by being in every gym, every time he turns around, to have the kid sign with the Heels.

Everybody has been updating who is in the lead for the Canadian's services between Kentucky and Florida State, like it was an election with straw polls, public opinions and pie graphs, and whatever else, you name it.

But maybe Roy has leveraged Carolina in there enough where the Cats have been caged and the Noles have been raided, and UNC has pulled off the coup and won the Wiggins battle

Or maybe Wiggins is sick to death of seeing Roy, that Chapel Hill is the last place he wants to spend his pre-millionaire year of basketball in these United States.

When I was 17, nobody cared if I went to the gas station, let along where I was gonna spend one year of my life. Wiggins is on the meat market, and its getting closer to see which NBA puppy mill he picks.
