Kentucky puts up a courageous fight, Louisville takes this battle

Shiloh. Antietam. Yum! Center.

Another battle in the War of The Commonwealth has just been recorded into history. The Cats lost this one. Oh, but this one!

Louisville surged to lead as much as 17 points in the second half. The Cats, aptly, clawed back into it.
It was a gutter-war. A heavyweight fight with both teams trying to throw that knockout punch, and at times throwing the wildest of haymakers at one another.
Louisville couldn't put the Cats away. Kentucky, couldn't quite climb the mountain.

Kids became men today, and they will carry these battle scars with them into March. Now, it's up to them to make them either reminders of what they  have been through, or an open wound that won't heal.

It was a fight from start to finish. And, it was simply beautiful to watch. If Louisville was attempting to be
Sherman and march into Atlanta by way of burning the Big Blue Nation to the ground, they didn't quite accomplish that goal.

And like the glorious South, and it's time-honored battle cry, Kentucky will rise again.

This game. These teams. This day.... Showed America why this is the BEST RIVALRY in the nation.

You're final score doesn't matter in one like this. Louisville edged the Cats by three today, and for a little while, Kentucky is indeed a RED state...

Will this be the game where Louisville became a bona-fied power for the season? Or, will it come to be known as the day these Cats became KENTUCKY? Time will tell, but for at least a little bit of it, time won't heal these wounds for some.
