In-N-Out The 64/60

Like a thick cloud of smog hanging over the Marathon Refinery, the effects of the Dale Thayer project still linger. Here we are over a week since the deal and Mr. Ward continues to rage nightly on how things should have been handled. I could be wrong but I feel the anger is directed more at not knowing about the pending status of Thayer as opposed to having second thoughts on the trade itself. Regardless his heart continues to bleed and in his opinion the blood is all over my hands. Let it be known I have reached out for a independent third party consilation. A certain ESPN Fantasy Baseball Podcast, ESPN Fantasy Focus. Without going into great detail about the trade I simply asked the question is it the sending owners responsibility to enclose iformation about outgoing players, as Jesse seems to think. Or should the receiving parties do the grunt work for the incoming talent. Will my centiments be affirmed, will Jesse Ward find solace when the group of experts take his side, or will the request be ignored like so many of mine before. Find out on Wednesday's edition of ESPN's Fantasy Focus Baseball edition, available for free on iTunes or ESPN Radio.com.

Per request here is a overview of the keeper rules: Teams are eligible to keep up to 5 players but are not required to do so. Players 2013 and each year thereafters value will be based on round selected in the 2012 draft. In the event a player is traded they will assume the same draft round for their new team. Should owners keep multiple players from the same round, the group of players value moving forward will be based on final year end ratings according to Yahoo. (For example a team acquires 2 second round picks from various trades and decides to keep his own player from Round 2. Player A is ranked 9th overall, Player B is ranked 15th and Player C is ranked 40th. Should said team also keep his first round pick then Player A would be second round, Player B third round, and Player C Fourth round. In the event the first round selection is not kept. Player A would be a first round pick, B the 2nd and C the third. Should player B and C default into a round already occupied with a keeper the same rules will apply to determine value for future seasons. At seasons end all keeper values will be determined by the Commissioner and ownership will be strong armed into approval. PLEASE NOTE: Only players who remain rostered all season are eligible to be kept moving forward. Any player who has been on the Waiver Wire at any point is not eligible for keeper status. I will compile a list of potential keepers from this poin in the season in the near future.

Game Recap

BCFP 10 vs. #fantasyteamname 2. I often complain of absentee owners and as the Commissioner of the league nothing is more frustrating. As a owner of a team in a two game skid I'll gladly take another. Like death and taxes Todd's yearly month long hiatus is a 64/60 staple.

MVP- Dexter Fowler .444/1/8/5/2/1.343

Walls 8 vs. Cutters 4. What has become of you Ev. You've turned your back on the 41129 for some suicidal salute to socially awkward teens. As if that isn't enough 29 Pitchers is a sign of the apocalypse. All those phone calls venting anger at the practice and 90 degrees later here you are. What happened to the man I know?

MVP- Jason Kipnis .320/1/7/6/5/.810

Stars 8 vs. M.R.O.T.A. 3. The week of onslaughts continues as Mike McClung continues to embrace his DL filled roster that once again manages to earn a W. To his legions of fans, he has assured me that the B'Ville Stars have not folded. Mike to offer still stands contact me anytime for free analytical advice.

MVP- Josh Willingham .348/2/5/8/0/1.162

Tom Emanski's Deathsquad 9 vs. Maniac's 1. With Bill I feel it's only rigt to talk about the actual team, given Bill isn't about the drama. Good production across the board aided by a poor week from the Maniac's. I'm still awaiting that sleeping Giant seen there in the middle of the standings.

MVP- Heath Bell 5SV 6K 0.00ERA .86WHIP 11.57K/9

Thayer Haters 9 vs. 9irons 3. The week of one-sided affairs continues as Jesse's bitterness continues to fuel his team. While the victim wasn't the target of affection having the Coleman name on the back still had to be grattifying.

MVP- Dale Thayer 0SV, 2K, 10.80ERA, 1.20WHIP, 10.80K/9 Sometimes ones value can't be found in a boxscore.

TBA 11 vs. Hendo Colonels 1. Raise your hands if you liked Chris's year of struggles in Football last season. Raise your hand if you have enjoyed Chris's recent lack of success come playoff time within the last several years of 64/60 action. Raise your hand if you look forward to watching Chris plummet to the playoff fringe post All Star Break after a great start to the season. Raise your hand if you respect Dave Hobson's loyalty to the 64/60 but wonder why he bothers. Like back in my teenage adoleescents my arm is tired and I need a nap.

MVP- Hanley Ramirez .500/4/6/6/1/1.625

Pickup Of The Week

Tony Campana, Lemaster's Cutters. About two weeks ago for some unkown reason Cubs Manager Dale Svuem removed Campana's name from the top of the Cubs lineup. For about a week Campana was nothing more than a pinch running specialist. For the time being that role appears to be over with and Campana has once again found himself getting 4AB's per game at the Top of the Cubs order. If Campana can keep himself in that role you could be looking at MLB's SB leader. Campana is currently second to Emilio Bonifacio's 20 but in 50 less AB's. The likes of Juan Pierre and Michael Bourn have produced Top 50 Overall Fantasy Season, in the past featuring the same skill set as Campana. With the Cubs inablilty to score runs Campana's name should become a fixture at the top of the Cubs lineup from this point forward and Campana could be well on his way to a 70+ SB season.

Head Scratcher Of The Week

B'Ville Stars drop Daniel Hudson. I don't fashion myself as a big Daniel Hudson fan. Truth be told with the deep Pitcher pool at owners disposal within the 64/60 I really have no isssue throwing a pitcher with Daniel Hudson's skill set back into the mix of available names. First issue with the move, to much patience to be impatient. After waiting patiently for two months on his return the Stars give him one start to prove himself. He wasn't dominate vs. the Brewers but he did go 5 solid against a respectable lineup. Second issue, check the schedule. Hudson was dropped on June 1st, on June second he pitches 8 innings of 2 run ball vs the Padres. Certainly a matchup you should like heading into it. Third issue, the name has value. As a 11th round pick and chosen inside the top 150, Hudson was certainly on many peoples radar. He could easily have been moved via trade assuming you would be more than welcome to receive .75 cents on the dollar in return. Fourth issue, for Homer Bailey and a buck of FAAB. I wouldn't trade Hudson straight up for Bailey to begin with and throwing in the dollar of FAAB budget only makes the deal worse cosmetically speaking. For someone who assures me their not mailing it in moves like this make me wonder. Like I told you on Sunday I am only a phone call away when you need some good advice. Just ask Mr. Ward.

Trade Analysis

Lemaster Cutters send Brennan Boesch, Colby Rasmus, and Logan Morrison to M.R.O.T.A. for David Freese. Classic Chris Lee trade as Ev scoured the bottom depths of his roster based on 2012 with the thought process of 3 is better than 1. I realize Freese has had a good season overall but outside of the hot start he has done very little the last two months. I'm not a big Freese guy I felt his postseason heroics had him overrated coming into the season and nothing has changed my opinion of that. By seasons end he'll be on the cusp of a Top 15 3B due to volume but he isn't the cornerstone player Ev makes him out to be. With good health Morrison is the best player in the deal and both Boesch and Rasmus have the ability to match the season output of Freese. Big edge to the M.R.O.T.A. in this deal.

Seriously. This is bullshit. Had I further known that you would be able to keep Pedroia in future drafts, I certainly would have never traded him. Also, were these rules posted prior to today? You had mentioned that unless you draft a player and keep him the entire season, you won't be able to keep them. The conditions of this statment imply that if you didn't draft a player or didn't keep them the entire season then you won't be permitted to keep them the following year.

You have added new rules and I think it's fucking bullshit. You pull this crap every year. I personally find it completely unfair.

I'll give you one last chance to trade Pedroia back for Johnson, Thayer and Hanrahan given the light shed on the new rules.

I agree with you that I should have researched the trade to a greater extent. Part of the responsibility lies on me. Meanwhile, if you want to rip people off, enjoy it, because it will only happen once and there will be a target on your back indefinitely.

Sincerely,

Jesse

Josh,

I owe you an apology for this rant. I didn't realize you had sent the rules out prior to this.
