In-N-Out The 64/60 Week 17

In case you are wondering that is the BCFP in 6th place and currently holding the final playoff spot. I have preached my excellent squad all season and it's finally time the product on the field is starting to match the lofty Power Ranking. For those who are keeping track at home with the win the BCFP are now a 4-1-1 record over the last six weeks and a combined score of 44-25. It's not only me at the Coleman household who is displaying fantasy excellence. Has anyone been paying attention to Hell and Damnation. H&D have now won three straight and have a 24-11 edge during those contest. The recent success has H&D within 10 games of a playoff spot with five games to play. All hasn't been well for the Coleman family. Another week of play for the 9irons and more injuries to account for. Thanks to the Dingers recent struggles the 9irons still hold a three game lead over the Dingers for the top spot. It's very likely that this weeks head to head battle may decide the top spot. Los Vonderheides waived the proverbial white flag on the 64/60 blog Sunday Night. The Vonderheides have run into some hard times of late and ownership is resigned to a rookie year with no playoffs. Ownership has begun the process of evaluating talent for 2011. A word of advice for the Vondies, the game of baseball is built on unwritten rules it's really not any different in fantasyland. Rule number one in the unwritten rule handbook. Never change your team name midseason. Chris Lee has managed to avoid this jinx in past seasons and still have success but Chris also played T-Ball at 12 and still manages to get laid, some rules don't apply to everyone. I also heard a resignation speech from Ev Lemaster and the 41129ers late Sunday night. I still think the 41129ers have some life in them but Ev is the knee-jerk reaction type. Honestly I was quite surprised this morning to see his roster virtually unchanged. It's probably best for his own well being that the trade deadline has passed. The Carps big win moved them only 4 games behind the 6th spot and a team that I have penciled in for a playoff spot. With that in mind someone currently in will have to be ousted. Hopefully that smuck won't be me.

No doubt the playoff push is going to be entertaining. With the trade deadline having come and gone it's will be decided by the performance of your current roster as opposed to relying on a trade to push you over the top. Since that's the case go ahead and pencil the Factory in one of those playoff spots.

Game Summary

BCFP 11 vs. Los Vondeheides 1. The big win was more about the Vondies bad week than the Factory being overwhelming.

MOP- Ricky Nolasco 2QS 14K 2.45/.75/8.59

BC Dingers 6 vs. Rubber Duckies 6. Bad time for the Dingers to take a bath. The Duckies exploded this week with 63 RBI and good pitching while the Dingers pitching imploded. The Dingers had a solid week and are still in second place but only one win in five games has kept them from capturing the top spot from the Putt-Putt Putters.

MOP- Marco Polo Scutaro .429/2/6/5/1/1.162

Ohio River Carp 10 vs LeMaestro's 41129ers 1. Typically games with this separation have one team who played terrible. This contest wasn't one of those matchups. The Carp did own the pitching and easily bested the 41129ers in AVG and OPS but Run, HR, RBI, SB all were close and all went to the Carp. In the resignation speech last night Ev demanded I give Jose Bautista respect. I will mention Bautista's amazing line .545/5/8/13/1.993 way to go Jose Bautista way to go.

MOP- Francisco Liriano 2QS 17K 0.00/.50/10.93

Hendo Colonels 8 vs. Tude Smackers 4. Finally the Colonels are able to earn a victory snapping a four game losing streak. The win likely ended all hope of the Smackers playoff pursuit. The Smackers do have a pulse but the Factory will put an end to it this week. Finish Him are the orders from my master.

MOP Leo Nunez 3SV 3K 3.38/1.50/10.13

Hell and Damnation 8 vs. 9irons. If it isn't difficult enough to look at your lineup and see news flashes of another player heading to the DL, how about a Joe Mauer 7 RBI night and Dan Uggla homering in five straight to add both salt and alcohol to the wound. A great philosopher once said "Sometimes you eat the bar and sometimes the bar eat you." At this moment the bar is bashing the skull of GRC3. In case Chrissy is still wondering who is running this refreshed squad it would be my wife and her lesbian co-worker.

MOP- Joe Mauer .632/1/9/10/1.705

B'Ville Stars 7 vs. Prestige Worldwide 4. Despite me bashing Mike on a weekly basis in the Head Scratcher of the Week and Todd being verbally assaulted because he kicks ass these two teams are often overlooked. PW has the best W-L record in the league while the Stars have been extremely consistent with only one losing streak on the year.

MOP- Carlos Gonzalez .533/4/10/7/2/1.625

Pickup of the Week

Chris Perez Ohio River Carp- Adding another Closer to an already Closer heavy pitching lineup. Perez has been good in the 8th inning role and has been effective in stints as a closer during the season.

Head Scratcher of the Week

Once again the Stars will not receive this honor despite spending 12 bucks on a MRP that only about three owners in the league may have heard of. Jensen has been very effective but has no shot of closing unless Broxton continues to implode Brad Lidge style. This weeks winner belongs the the 9irons. Tyler Colvin, Ty Wigginton, Dominic Brown, Alex Gordon were all available in Waivers this week and not a one was claimed by the offensive starved 9irons. Yes Colvin went for 34 and Brown went for 40 but 85 dollars is setting their and you can't apply it to football or carry it over to 2011. It isn't likely that a better player will become available this season. For Rose's sake please pick up Brett Wallace and rid yourself of a AVG OPS killing Julio Borbon who has no speed this season.

Trade Analysis

Tude Smackers get Phil Hughes and Ervin Santana from the 41129ers for Joakim Soria. Basically the Smackers get 20 innings of quality pitching each week for 3 or 4 and still have depth at the closer position. For the 41129ers it does give them two closers but around the league closers aren't really spread out evenly. The Carp, Dingers, BCFP factory all have four or more so against the other 8 squads the 41129ers likely won't have much of an increased likelihood of winning the Stat weekly.

The 64/60 at the NFBC. Still second in the league and it's becoming a two team race to the finish. 36th out of 288 in the overall with little hope of claiming the top spot.
