In-N-Out The 64/60 Week 15
Not exactly the way I expected the week to turn out. Only one game could be considered a blowout with a 9-3 advantage. Two contest finished in a 6-6 deadlock while two contest finished 6-5. In past seasons the post All-Star break week has had many 10-2 type wins. Typically one team will have a big night over the weekend and run away with the contest. This year that was not the case. It seemed that each team had a counter punch this week. If one team performed well hitting the other performed well on the rubber. Some squads made huge comebacks on Sunday such as the 41129ers who had been owned by Hell and Damnation. Though I would rather the 3 to 4 games be added onto the following week the excitement of the 4 day stretch is tough to match because you are truly in the game until the final day.
Game Recap
BCFP 6 vs. BC Dingers 6. A matchup of self proclaimed fantasy experts ended in a draw and extended the drought of the Haimster himself against his mentor. Each team won three on offense and three on defense. The Factory was hoping for a big win to jump into the 6th spot in the standings and their rightful place as a playoff team. As for the Dingers they were know doubt looking for a big win to once again claim the top spot in the standings. Both will have to wait at least another week.

Ohio River Carp 6 vs. Tude Smackers 4. It seems as though the Smackers have began to waive the White flag on the season. Although that may seem to be a bit premature no doubt the Week 15 was just another step backwards and another losing streak has begun. The win gives the Carp three in a row and has brought them within 8.5 games from a playoff spot. Once again the Carp struggled on offense this week but as has been the case all season the Carp performed well on the mound. If the Carp should make the move their offense will have to step it up.

Los Vonderheides 6 vs. Hendo Colonels 5. This was one of those Offensive vs. Pitching matchups but in a surprising fashion it was the Vonderheides with a rare offensive explosions. The Vonderheides have struggled on offense all season so it has to be encouraging to see the offensive output over the last couple of weeks. The Vonderheides have been a playoff team for most of the season. Although they have struggled for the better part of a month and a half two wins in three weeks has helped them remain in contention. For the Colonels the loss marks three in a row and 4 of 5. The Colonels are still statistically a strong unit but the recent struggles have to be concerning. They have went from a strong 3rd in the standings to 4th with only a 3 game lead over 5 and only 10 games ahead of the 7th place team in the standings. Recent inactivity due to rather trivial items such a clients trial can be blamed. It's time you take a plea deal and get back to the league.

Hell and Damnation 6 vs. LeMaestero's 41129ers 5. Hell and Damnation was in complete control of this matchup until Sunday and the 41129ers in typical Everett Lemaster style performed best with their backs against the wall. With the game in a 6-6 deadlock her beloved Cubs once again did right by her as big Tom Gorzo had a QS last night which resulted in a split in QS and a 6-5 Win. Hell and Damnation's season is on life support and every win provides a little more hope that a turnaround will happen soon. As for the 41129ers their once promising season has hit a tough stretch. The 41129ers have not won a game in over a month and have a 0-4-1 record over those contest being outscored 21-34. The 41129ers still have a hold on the 6th spot but if this stretch continues the 41129ers will be on the outside looking in of the playoff race.

Rubber Duckies 9 vs. Barboursville Stars 3. The lone knockout punch of the week was administered by a group of Duckies. With a solid offensive week and excellent pitching. The Duckies have so many attractive options on their squad but things just haven't played out well this season. Stop me if you have heard this before, but inactivity could be to blame. The Stars have been very consistent for the better part of the last three months but this does mark their second 3-9 setback in three weeks. This week the Stars surprisingly suffered from a poor pitching week which have been few and far between this season.

Argumentative 9irons 6 vs. Prestige Worldwide 6. In a showdown amongst family the Worldwide supplied all the hitting while the 9irons took advantage of bad results by Worldwide. Both teams have comfortable positions in the standings with a 17 game lead over the 7th place team. Both owners also found time this week to contribute to the best fantasy blog on the web. Hopefully both owners can find time to continue their contributions while balancing a full week contest and those pesky jobs.

*No stats were considered for season's best due to the short week.
Pickup of the Week- Chris Perez BC Dingers. It is the time of the season to grab up those newly appointed Closers. The Dingers had the quick finger this week and nabbed up Perez once Wood went to the DL.
Head Scratcher of the Week- Once again it is hard to find much fault with any of the moves this week. However since I didn't call out anyone last week I feel it is my obligation to throw someone under the bus this week. This weeks honor will once again go to the Tude Smackers and Mr. Ward. Mr. Ward dropped Dexter Fowler and Sean Rodriguez for Jack Cust and Bill Hall. Now before chairs are thrown let me explain. I actually prefer Jack Cust over any of the aforementioned players however I know what Jack Cust is. Cust is a decent OPS performer with good HR potential but has no speed and is a AVG risk. Bill Hall is a below average player with no fantasy value other than providing AB potential. With the Smackers season in a tailspin and playoff hopes fading fast the Smackers need breakout performances. Yes Fowler had been in a 0-18 slump but just two weeks ago he was among the top 10 fantasy players for that week. Fowler isn't likely to be that type of player this season but at least he has the potential. Rodriguez is much the same. Stuck in a platoon Rodriguez doesn't get everyday at bats but during stretches this season he has been a very solid performer. In my opinion the Smackers have a better chance to salvage their season going with the unknown than the bottom roster performance of Cust and the below average performance of Hall.
64/60 at the NFBC. Another tough week has dropped us from the top spot to number two in the league. Paco Thyme who is in the top spot has really come on over the last three weeks and now has a slight lead over the 64/60. Fear not. We have added another closer with the loss of Kerry Wood and with the Trading Deadline approaching additional help may be on the way. Brian Roberts and Asdrubal Cabrera are both expected to be back soon so are swinging door middle infield should be vastly improved. I would like to add another big bat because I am slightly worried that Ortiz could struggle down the stretch. Overall we are just outside the Top 30 and down 6 spots to number 33 out of 288 teams.
